FORECAST

Sunshine returns today as the winds calm down, but temperatures will only reach the upper 50s and low 60s, keeping the fall feel firmly in place. The new week starts with plenty of sunshine Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures gradually rebound into the mid-to-upper 60s, although a gusty breeze may keep things feeling cool at times. Sunshine remains the main story through the middle and end of next week.
You'll notice some extra clouds by midweek with a windy several days. Gusts may be over 30-35 mile per hour at times Tuesday through Thursday, especially at the Jersey shore. This is thanks to a storm system that will develop and linger offshore. At this point it looks like any rain will stay away, but a wind and large surf will be the main impacts. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) gives this storm system a 30% chance of becoming a subtropical storm over the next 7 days. In that case, it would get a name.
Enjoy the sunshine and grab the pumpkin over the next couple of days! Stay with News12 NJ for the latest weather updates!
